2009 MechWarrior Trailer
After 10 long years of patient and some not so patient waiting a brand new Mechwarrior game is upon us. The new Mechwarrior game is being made by current liecense owner Jordon Weisman head of Smith and Tinker and original co-founder of Fasa Corp, the creators of the battletech universe, and Piranha Games. This game is not MechWarrior 5, oh no, it’s a complete re-boot of the series going back to the start of the forth succession war in 3015, 35 years prior to MechWarrior 2 released in 1995. Although this game will appear on both PC and Xbox 360, the companies have assured use they won’t be taking this game in the direction microsoft took the series with the interesting but insulting to any true mechwarrior installation of MechInsult… I mean, MechAssault. The technology is at the point now where a true mechwarrior experience can be had on a console as has been had by many generations on the PC. Although there’s no release date, the game as been in production since October 2008 with concept and brainstorming by Smith and Tinker and Pirahna Games. This Trailer is in game footage of what has been acheived so far. And the time nears to a release date being confirmed, we can only pray that the game goes from looking fantastic, to 31st century stunning. Check out IGN for a 6 page Q&A by Jordon Weisman and Russ Bullock of Parahna Games.
